Review
This game is a defender clone with enhanced graphics and sound. For the few
people who don't know what defender is, this is how the game is played. You
control a ship in which you have to save people on the planet surface. Enemy
aliens try to capture the people and mutate them to turn against you. The game
scrolls horizontally and at a frantic pace. You are attacked relentlessly by
aliens and spaceships. Radar shows where the aliens are so you know when and
where they will be attacking from. Kill all the aliens and you will face the
end of level guardian. Defeat it and you go to another planet to do it all
again, this time with different and harder to kill enemies.
There are at least 5 levels in the game. (I can't be sure because I never
completed the game.) and each one has it own unique enemies. The graphics are
very nice and the way the enemies burst apart like exploding watermelons is a
very nice effect. The sound is also suitable for this type of game. Gameplay
is fast and furious and the difficulty level seems just about right.

In conclusion, this is a very nice game. It doesn't improve upon the
concept of defender, but the graphics and sound are greatly enhanced. If you
like defender then you will like this game. If you see it in the bargin bin
then buy it, if not, then get defender from the Public Domain. It may not look
as good as Overkill but it will play the same.
